Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

We will arrive in Cairo and check into our hotel. Depending on arrival times, we will enjoy a relaxed evening and get ready for the adventure ahead of us.

2
Day 2: Pyramids, Ancient Cities and Old Cairo

After breakfast, we shall have an early start to the day for a full immersion into ancient Egypt as we will visit:

  • The Pyramids of Giza & the Sphinx

  • Saqqara

  • Memphis, Egypt’s ancient capital

  • Old Cairo, rich in history and culture

Saqqara is one of the most important archaeological sites in Egypt because it marks the very beginning of monumental stone architecture. It is home to the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest stone pyramid in the world and the blueprint that inspired the pyramids we see at Giza today. Visiting Saqqara will help us understand how Egypt’s pyramid-building journey started  from experimental designs to the iconic structures we now associate with ancient Egypt.

Memphis was the first capital of ancient Egypt, founded over 5,000 years ago. While much of the city has disappeared over time, what remains is incredibly symbolic, including the famous colossal statue of Ramses II. A visit to Memphis provides historical context: it explains how Egypt was governed, how power was centralized, and how religion, politics, and daily life intersected during the height of ancient civilization. It connects the dots between the pyramids, temples, and the people who once ruled from this city.

After breakfast, we shall visit the Nubian villages. The Nubian community is known for their distinct culture, language, architecture, music, and traditions, which have been preserved for generations along the Nile in southern Egypt. This visit will provide a deeper understanding of Egypt’s living cultures, allowing us to interact with locals, learn about Nubian history, and see how life along the Nile continues today. It’s a chance to slow down, connect on a human level, and appreciate Egypt through its people, not just its past.

The rest of the day and evening will be spent leisurely. An optional trip on this day is to Abu Simbel - If you choose to do this trip, please note that you will have a very early morning start (3:00 A.M)  to your day.
